Scope, sub-processors, and data residency.

Scope of advisory

Fahy Advisory provides commercial and financial advisory services to private business owners. We are not a registered tax agent, public accountant, or Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) holder. We do not lodge tax returns or BAS, and we do not advise on financial products. Where work falls outside our lane we refer you to a qualified professional.

Engagement

All engagements are governed by a written engagement letter signed before work begins. Fees are fixed per cycle (monthly or quarterly) or a fixed project fee, and the minimum terms and notice periods are set out in the letter.

Data residency

Client financial data is hosted in Supabase (Sydney, Australia). Access to your accounting system (Xero or equivalent) is read-only via API.

Sub-processors

  • •Supabase (database hosting — Sydney region).
  • •Anthropic (commentary drafting via the Claude API, and drafting and checking in Claude Team — US; business terms, not used to train their models).
  • •OpenAI (ChatGPT Business and the OpenAI API — US; business terms, not used to train their models).
  • •Google Workspace (email, calendar, file storage and the Gemini assistant, on our work account; not used to train models outside our domain).
  • •Cloudflare (client portal hosting — US edge network; clients sign in by emailed link).
  • •Xero (read-only API access where applicable).

The AI providers receive your financial figures; the names of the customers and suppliers in your ledger, because a report has to name who owes you money; the job and pipeline names in the schedules you send us; what you write in your monthly update form; and the working notes we keep about your business. They never receive email addresses, bank details, payroll data or tax file numbers.

Retention & deletion

On termination of an engagement you can request a copy of your data within 30 days, in CSV or PDF. After 90 days we delete it from our active systems, keeping only what the law requires us to retain.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy. We do not sell or share client data with third parties beyond the sub-processors listed above. For privacy enquiries email [email protected].
